Job Title: Network Technician
Skills:
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience working in a Network Integrator role performing all functions of installation, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, support and documentation for existing and new client networks.
Will possess a thorough understanding of basic network operation including switches, routers, operating systems, firewalls, backup devices, vpn's, antivirus and spam prevention, email systems, network and program security, data transfer, network management and managed services.
Will have a strong working knowledge of servers and desktop PC hardware and mainstream software applications in a networked environment.
Will have the technical and real life experiences to be immediately productive, be a highly motivated self-starter and possess excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Will be required to work on his/her own, as well as function as part of a team environment. Will also interact with clients on a daily basis and be required to clearly present ideas, concepts, details and issues verbally and in writing.
Microsoft and Cisco certifications desired. Other certifications looked at favorably.
Overview: Provide hands-on installation, repair, testing and maintenance of the customer's network, workstations and network infrastructure, as well as perform Help Desk functions both on-site and in-house. This will include complete adds, moves and changes of servers, workstations, switches, routers, firewalls, internet access and other associated equipment.
Provide technical support to established and new customer base. Ensure the timely response and resolution of all client installation and support issues. Work will be performed both at the client sites and in-house.
Must be able to handle company and customer contact, document history, prepare reports and other associated operations. Other duties may be assigned.
